11/9/2023 0 Comments Round light oak coffee table![]() Keep reading to see our favourite coffee tables for 2023 (and they're all under £250). Remember to keep the styling balanced and avoid overcrowding the space.' 'Finally, don't forget about practical items like coasters or a small tray for remotes. Then, consider adding a natural element like plants or flowers to bring life to the space. ![]() ![]() Add decorative objects like candles, vases, or sculptures to add interest and texture. Tracey Hague, director of Where Saints Go, advises: 'To style a coffee table, start with a tray or a few books to create a base. Think about your style too – that will determine whether you opt for a gorgeous traditional mahogany coffee table or a funky painted metal table to add a splash of colour to the living room.' How do you style a coffee table? If space is at a premium, then you need something that will work for you – a small footprint and plenty of added-value storage space. 'If you have plenty of room, opt for a chunky wooden coffee table with drawers then that can be a focal point for a room. 'It’s all about space,' says Simon Glanville, managing director at A Place For Everything. If you're looking for something unique, you will also find rattan coffee tables on the market, as well as classic black, white and grey designs. Wood is the most common material for coffee tables (including oak and MDF), with marble also being a popular choice for modern homes. Square or rectangular coffee tables are ideal for larger living spaces and have plenty of surface space. Meanwhile, glass coffee tables can help to give the illusion of more space. Oval or circular coffee tables (or those with curved silhouettes) are best for smaller living rooms as they are generally designed to fit compact spaces – these are also good for homes with young children due to the absence of sharp corners. 11/9/2023 0 Comments Lattice semiconductor bethlehem pa![]() Lattice rotation in this new mode of crystal growth occurs upon crystallization through a well-organized dislocation/disclination structure introduced at the glass/crystal interface. The proof-of-concept including key characteristics of RLS crystals is demonstrated using the example of Sb 2S 3 crystals within the Sb-S-I model glass system for which the rotation rate depends on the direction of laser scanning relative to the orientation of initially formed seed. Here we report a novel approach to fabricate RLS crystal lines and 2D layers of unlimited dimensions via a recently discovered solid-to-solid conversion process using a laser to heat a glass to its crystallization temperature but keeping it below the melting temperature. Such rotating lattice single (RLS) crystals are found, but only as spherulitic grains too small for systematic characterization or practical application. Additionally, she is a Rossin Junior Engineering Fellow, President of Eta Kappa Nu, Vice President of the IEEE student chapter and is a recipient of the Joseph C. Gabuzda Memorial Award for outstanding achievement in Electrical Engineering at Lehigh.Defying the requirements of translational periodicity in 3D, rotation of the lattice orientation within an otherwise single crystal provides a new form of solid. For this research she has received the Clare Boothe Luce Research Scholarship and Honorable Mention for her presentation at the David and Lorraine Freed Undergraduate Research Symposium in 2018. She began researching under the guidance of Professor Jonathan Wierer the summer after her sophomore year and plans to continue past receiving her bachelors by pursuing a PhD in the field. Rebecca Lentz is a senior studying electrical engineering at Lehigh University with a focus in semiconductor materials. The structure is designed for single-mode propagation of blue laser light (λ=405 nm), but could potentially guide light in the infrared spectrum, if designed with the proper dimensions. This air/GaN/AlInO waveguide is simulated using COMSOL multiphysics modeling software to determine mode characteristics and dimensional requirements. The AlInN is then oxidized laterally, beginning on the exposed AlInN and proceeding underneath the GaN core to create the AlInO lower cladding. This is followed by a thin GaN core layer which is then post-growth patterned and etched to form waveguiding strips. To produce the waveguiding structure, a thick layer (> 200 nm) of AlxIn1-xN is grown lattice matched (x~0.82) on a GaN layer by metalorganic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD). This AlInO has a refractive index of n ~ 1.7 at λ=405 nm, making it ideal as a cladding layer for GaN, which has a refractive index of n ~ 2.4. This process uses wet thermal oxidation (H2O/N2 at 800 - 900 ☌) to form dense, insulating, and thick AlInO. Here a new oxidation process is used to transform AlInN to AlInO and form waveguides in III-nitride semiconductors. An analog semiconductor/buried oxide waveguide has yet to be demonstrated for III-nitrides. PICs require routing of the photonic signals which is, for example, accomplished in Si-based PICs using a Silicon-on-insulator waveguiding structure. These speeds can be enhanced further, as shown in other material systems, by using waveguides and modulators to form photonic integrated circuits (PIC). ![]() VLC can be accomplished using either light-emitting diodes (LEDs) or laser diodes (LDs), the latter offering faster modulation speeds due to stimulated emission. A more nascent application is III-nitride waveguides which have potential for various applications such as nonlinear optics, quantum photonics, and visible light communications (VLC). Gallium Nitride (GaN) is most commonly and successfully used for light-emitters, high- speed transistors, and power devices. 11/9/2023 0 Comments Netbeans ide change file templates![]() To set this JDK as the default for all projects, you can run the IDE with the -jdkhome switch on the command line, or by entering the path to the JDK in the netbeans_j2sdkhome property of your INSTALLATION_DIRECTORY/etc/nf file. The younger of his two remaining children, Tabitha, then 23, had decided to keep him company, along with her sister’s husband, Hank. There was the familiar hum of the Capitol, where, movingly, colleagues of all stripes consoled him. That morning, Raskin was able to step briefly outside grief, into work and a version of his old routine. “It is in the irreducible constitution of my personality to be an optimist, and I am radically optimistic about how the Constitution of the nation itself can uplift our social, political, and intellectual condition.”) Before coming to Congress, in 2017, Raskin had spent more than 25 years as a professor of constitutional law, and on arrival he quickly emerged as what Pelosi calls one of the House’s “leading constitutional experts.” (“I have been my whole life a constitutional optimist, in a double sense,” Raskin writes in Unthinkable. Given President Trump’s efforts to kick up dust around his loss, objections were anticipated, and the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, had asked Raskin to help lead the floor response-a role, and a click of republican machinery, that he relished. It was the day when the electoral votes of the 2020 presidential election would be counted. He spent a few days nearly catatonic, “rocking back and forth like a baby.” Then, on January 6, he rode down to the Capitol to try to work. ![]() “After searching frantically for my phone-which I had thrown high in the air when I came upon the scene-after dialing 911 and screaming after I tried to resuscitate him and get him to breathe by pressing repeatedly on his hard, beautiful chest…I floated through the house and under the grey winter sky, thinking perhaps I was gone forever, too,” Raskin writes in Unthinkable, his extraordinary new memoir of an extraordinary year. For Raskin and his wife and their two other children, this was the start of a nightmare. The previous Thursday, after preparing a breakfast smoothie, he had gone to the room where his 25-year-old son, Tommy, was staying while remotely attending Harvard Law School and had found him dead, a victim of suicide. Raskin, a Democrat who represents Maryland’s Eighth District, was entering his fifth year in Congress, having first been elected on the same night as Donald Trump.
